The installer must be very careful when locating the height of an oven below the cooktop. In a standard height counter there is very little clearance between cooktop and the top of the over. The fitting required to connect the gas to the cooktop will barely fit in the space. We also purchased a Whirlpool Gold Electric oven and the installer had to obtain a special elbow and lower the oven as far as possible to allow the cooktop to sit flush on the counter top.The other design issue is related to the cooktop grates. A smaller pot or a small frying pan with a curved bottom is unstable on the cooktop because they will only contact the cross shaped portion of the grate and not the 4 other grates which extend partially into the burner area. shaped

Going from electric to gas has been a huge improvement especially with this product and model with which we have had no issues, just great success!
