Frigidaire 22.0 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator

The unit worked fine until about a month after the 1-year warranty expired. Since then numerous repairs have costs me about half of what I originally paid for the refrigerator. The first thing that had to be replaced was the compressor starter and capacitor. Then it started beeping and displaying error codes. Had to replace a control board to fix that. Next, started getting lots of frost in the freezer because the door seal wasn't working properly. I fixed this myself using silicon weatherstripping from Lowe's. The latest problem is a tab snapped off one of the plastic door bins, rendering it useless. Judging by comments left by others buying replacement bins on Amazon and eBay, this is common problem. Needless to say, I will not be buying another Frigidaire refrigerator, even though my other major kitchen appliances are Frigidaire. No problems with them, so far.

The refrigerator keeps food cold, the freezer also works well. My issues are with the shelves, drawers and interior walls cracking. The refrigerator is only about 2 years old, I've already had to replace a cracked door shelf, repair a cracked drawer and another door shelf needs to be replaced. The interior walls are covered with cracks that I have never seen before on any appliance.

Ours is 2 years old. The light in the freezer compartment burned out at less than one year old, now the refrigerator light burned out and it’s only 2 years old. These bulbs should last much longer. They are around FOURTY Dollars to replace!! a $40 bulb!! That lasts maybe 2 years! I refuse to pay that , but it stinks having a refrigerator and freezer that don’t have a working light in them.

Had to replace my previous Frigidaire side-by-side that lasted 18 years! Loved it so much that it was not a question about purchasing another Frigidaire to replace it. The one I have now is the latest version of my previous model. The biggest difference is that the refrigerator side is a bit smaller than the other one, but we're adjusting. I still love this one too!

Bought new, made ice for 2 months then stopped. Scheduled service call, had to wait 4 weeks. Serviceman arrives decides we need part(s) that he doesn’t have. Wth? Then tells me parts will be delivered to me but no one is available to install for another 3-4 weeks. To me that’s unacceptable customer service!We are now left with a brand new malfunctioning refrigerator for 7-8 weeks. The fridge is also somewhat “built in” requiring removal / reinstallation of pantry cupboard.
