Disappointing and dangerous

I read with interest the other reviews. We've had exactly the same problems as others. After about two years we had problems with the latch -- pushing the button doesn't open the door easily. We have to press hard on one side of the button and it still doesn't always open. In addition, the back of the microwave interior is rusting which I've never seen before on any other microwave. But what pushed me into action to buy a new microwave is that on two separate occasions the microwave *failed to turn off* when the door was opened. I suspect this has to do with the latch issue. In each case we had to close the door and push the button on the microwave multiple times to get it to turn off. Couldn't reach the plug easily because of the way the unit is installed. So much for the Whirlpool reputation which is why we bought the unit in the first place.

Bought a new home and this microwave was installed. Just after having been one year (of course out of warranty!), the microwave just stopped working. Don’t purchase this microwave waste of time and money.

I less than three years of use, my latch is broken, just like numerous other people reported. I sent an email to Whirlpool_Reviews@Whirlpool.com but they don't response. Their lack of response tells me to NEVER buy whirlpool again!

Purchased a new home in 2017 and this microwave was installed by the builder. About every few months the display would randomly reset itself, which was annoying but livable. However, about 2 weeks ago half display went out and now only half the numbers can be seen. Will be replacing will a different manufacturer.

Possessed microwave

We bought this microwave in February 2017 to replace a non-working older Whirlpool microwave. However, after only one year, the screen started going bad, which has made reading the digits of the clock/timer progressively impossible Also, the microwave has taken a mind of its own; stopping midway through a heating cycle, starting itself after shutting the door, not responding to time entry, etcetera. While the microwave still works (whenever it wants to); the strange gibberish displayed on the screen and its strange behavior makes us think it is possessed by the devil. My kids hate it.
