Whirlpool 30-inch Wide French Door Refrigerator - 19.7 cu. ft.

Love my new 30 inch wide French door stainless fridge. I had a old style refrigerator and had to lean over and could never see what was in the back of it. Love the French door feature and no more bending over everything is a eye view. Was very fortunate to find the size that I needed for my space. Most of the refrigerators today are 36" wide and this one fit into my smaller space just perfect.

Once I figured out how to arrange all my food in this French door, freezer on the bottom appliance I really liked it. Good use of space. The light is bright unless I block the top shelf with too much food. My only complaint is that the motor is fairly loud. I would think by now they would have figured out how to make the motor quieter. Otherwise, great appliance. One thing to note is that the brushed nickel finish does stain very easily so I have to wipe it down on a daily basis to keep it looking nice and shiny.

I bought this refrigerator without really bothering to look it over, my previous one conked out and I needed a replacement quickly. I have had it for a few weeks now, and I really like it. Multiple drawers and compartments are great for separating items that cool to different temps and moisture levels. I haven't gotten the built in icemaker plumber yet, I will though and look forward to fresh ice!

I’m very pleased with my Whirlpool. There is more room than I thought. The only disadvantage is lack of space for taller items. The milk fits perfect on the door but I put my water pitcher in the area where the shelves slide back and only have room for one 2 liter bottle. I do lie bottles down hoping the top is on tight. The freezer is also very roomy.

Bought WHITE from HD. Family of 4. Standard features - all work. Roomy: yes, fridge and freezer. Ice-maker: Still working. LED lights: Classy! Hinges/looks - ext and int: still like new. <<< The bad part (1 star loss) >>> - The 2 half width veg and fruit shelves very badly designed. Keeps falling off, they hang from the upper shelf. Warranty - does NOT cover shelves. - The milk canister door shelf - absolutely useless. Any gallon milk when put there would cause it to open when door is opened! Many times, my milk fell! - The cheese and butter tray top portion glass has an arresting white strip in front. Again very badly designed as it keeps falling off. - Behind the tray there's some sort of left over opening closed with a plastic hatch. Inside which all your stuff dripping from the above shelves (if occurs) collects! It took us a long time to figure out where a nasty smell was coming from. - The freezer trays - there are 2 of them I can not take them out to clean them and also the walls of the freezer. <<< The VERY BAD part (2 star loss) >>> - We have this for the 4th. year now with the final 5th. year in progress with HD extended warranty. - During the 1st. year the controller went kaput. Had to be replaced under warranty. - During the 3rd. year, horrendous noise from fan started to come. Once again the servicing guys came and replaced something in the back. - During the 5th. year (now) again the problem re-surfaced. This time it was a small thing at the back which got clogged causing water backup from evaporation and caused the fan to get stuck / make noises. - Nowhere in their service manual they state that we need to pull out the fridge, open the bottom cover (with perforations) and towards the left side bottom there's an internal pipe with a rubber (yellow/white) gasket/funnel. That needs to be pulled out and cleaned - regularly. Not only that - there's a white tray there which should be cleaned too - as it was pretty dirty. <<< CONCLUSION >>> Already we had 3 service calls. As per our warranty contract with HD - the 4th. call means the fridge is a lemon. With the issues surrounding design of the shelves coupled with issues I faced, I can not recommend this fridge.
